Immigration Basics Registration

Immigration Basics is mandatory for all international students in F or J status. If this is your first semester at the University of Arkansas, you are REQUIRED to attend an Immigration Basics session. You will not be able to register for classes until you complete this session. 

Please keep the following in mind as you register for your Immigration Basics session:

• Registration for Immigration Basics is required for all F-1 and J-1 Student Visa holders.  If you are on a different visa, please contact issworld@uark.edu and attach a copy of our I-94 that shows your current status.
• You will be asked to upload the following documents prior to your Immigration Basics session:
  • passport
  • visa
  • I-20 or DS-2019
  • I-94
• If you arrive late for a session, you will not be admitted to the session.

When Should You Schedule Your Session:
Select a date for your Immigration Basics session that is after you have arrival date to Arkansas. We recommend you arrive to the University of Arkansas no more than 30 days but at least one week prior to the start of classes for your enrollment term. To ensure a smooth course registration process, please schedule your Immigration Basics session that is open closest to your arrival date.  For suggested arrival dates and detailed orientation schedule, please visit the International Students and Scholars website.


Registration Limits and Deadlines:
A limited number of spots are available for each session. We recommend signing up for a session as soon as you have solidified your travel arrangements.


How to Register:
Use the calendar below to select a session date.  Make sure your date is after your planned arrival to Arkansas.  Complete and submit the registration form. You will receive a confirmation email once you have completed the registration.  If your plans change and you need to reschedule, you will need to first CANCEL your current registration then find a new date from the calendar that is open and complete a new registration form.
